TRLA Accepting Nominations for Annual Elder Caregiver of the Year Award
Each day our community relies on caregivers to provide essential services to our seniors. The Triad Retirement Living Association (TRLA), an organization of more than 100 senior service industry professionals, has recognized the largely unheralded work of these dedicated caregivers each year with the Elder Caregiver of the Year award. It recognizes ten finalists at an annual luncheon, with one person receiving the Caregiver of the Year award.
Past nominees have included family members, volunteers at hospitals or hospice organizations, employees of independent living retirement communities, assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, home care agencies or adult daycare centers. Any caregiver who has direct contact with seniors in need of assistance, in any setting where they provide care, is eligible for this award. Last year’s award recipient was Beverly Hayes of Winston-Salem, who cared for her husband who had Parkinson’s and her elderly mother, while working a full-time job.
TRLA will be accepting nominations through August 31, 2017. The annual Caregiver’s Award luncheon will be held on October 12, 2017, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 410 Holden Road, Greensboro. For a nomination form, go to www.TRLA.info and click on Elder Caregiver of the Year Award, and the Nomination page to download the form.
