The Cricket’s Nest Firecracker Festival Celebrates National Ice Cream Day!
July is National Ice Cream Month and the Cricket’s Nest is celebrating during its annual Firecracker Festival, Saturday, July 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be food, live music, and of course, the biggest attraction – FREE ICE CREAM SUNDAES! Start with the classic vanilla ice cream base, then choose from a variety of syrups, Oreos, M&M’s, whipped topping, and add a cherry on top for the perfect summer treat!
But that’s not all! With over 50 vendors, there will be a wide variety of beautiful hand-crafted merchandise such as truly unique jewelry, pet accessories, up-cycled glass, hand-painted home décor and ornaments, handmade soaps, published works by local authors, turned-wood pens and the most precious baby items one can imagine! In addition to the vendors throughout the park and inside South Fork Community Center, the Cricket’s Nest also offers its ever changing inventory such as yard art, bird houses, pottery, hand-turned wood pieces, Moravian items, kitchen towels and dishcloths, as well as our much sought after doll clothes that fit the 18″ American Girl dolls.
Located at 4401 Country Club Road in beautiful South Fork Park, Winston-Salem, the Cricket’s Nest, a non-profit business, has been serving senior adults and the general public for over 40 years. Talented crafters 55+ years young and residents of Forsyth County are eligible to join The Nest and consign their handmade crafts. It is $25 to join and members keep 100% of their asking price when their items sell. The Cricket’s Nest is operated by the City of Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks Department and is a service to the senior community of Forsyth County and its residents.
Admission to the Firecracker Festival and parking are FREE, so grab the grandkids, a friend, and a neighbor and join us for a fun day at the Firecracker Festival.
